Digital Photography and Imaging | Week 10
Week 10
Lecture
Mr Fauzi showed us the usage of After Effects and what it can do and presented some past students' works to show us an example of what we will be doing for our last project. After Effects can be used to create motion graphics animations by manipulating vector and rasterized art to tell a story.
The pre-composition should be done in Photoshop with proper layering before importing it into After Effects to create an easier process to animate.
Tutorial
He provided a few video tutorials to showcase how After Effects can be used and what it can create.
Practical
Following the video tutorial, we learnt how to use masking, transform and keyframes to add different types of animation to different images. It was a little challenging as I originally made it 15 milliseconds instead of 15 seconds :,)... And I encountered some problems while exporting as I couldn't find the H.264 option to export. So I had to install Adobe Media Encoder to have that option.
